An Expanding Subterra (2002-2009) explores commodified underground space (including working mines and power stations, and former mines ‘re-purposed’ for a variety of commercial and domestic uses) in the USA, Australia, New Zealand and France. This project formed the basis of several exhibitions and is documented comprehensively in the book of the same name.
Images are predominantly large colour pigment prints (to 82 x 120 cm). Works in the Opal City series (Coober Pedy, Australia) are selenium-toned silver gelatin prints (40 x 60 cm).
