Landscape of Change is an ongoing project, incorporating work from the mid-1980s onwards (including the series Shifting Nature). Wayne has described the project as providing ‘the foundation for my approach to issues related to the habitation, appropriation and control of our land’, which has connections with the work of nineteenth-century landscape photographers and the New Topographics photographers of the 1970s.
Most of the prints from the early years of the series are selenium-toned silver gelatin prints around 16 x 22 cm, with later work more often 40 x 60 cm in scale.
