Saltworks: The Processed Landscape (1987-1989) investigates the synthetic ‘processed’ landscape generated by the solar extraction of salt at Lake Grassmere in Marlborough. The highly delineated and bizarrely coloured lake is one of New Zealand’s most distinctive modified and engineered landscapes.
